Latest news from Spain:
What do the measures mean for your holiday in everyday life on and around the campsite in Spain? Below is an explanation of the main holiday components:
At the camping
You do not have to wear a face mask at your accommodation if you are with people from the same travel group. If other people come to visit, a mask must be worn in the Aragon, Catalonia, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands and Andalusia. This is not necessary in the rest of Spain, if it is possible to keep 1.5 meters away.
When you leave your accommodation to, for example, go to the supermarket, swimming pool or terrace, a mask is mandatory.
At the pool
A face mask is not required at the pool. Both during swimming and around the pool, when sunbathing there is no need to wear a mask. It is hereby assumed that the campsite has provided considerable social distancing, including the beach beds around the pool.
On the beach
The same rules apply to the beach as to the swimming pool; no mask should be worn when swimming and sunbathing. When you move between your place on the beach and, for example, the shower, toilet or dressing room, a face mask is mandatory.
If you want to go to a restaurant at a campsite or, for example, in a village near the campsite, or if you want to sit on the terrace at a bar, you must wear a mask when entering and leaving. Once seated at the table, the mouth mask may be taken off. It is assumed that the catering establishment itself has ensured a social distance of 1.5 meters. The same rules apply to the terrace. It is important to mention that these regulations regarding catering and terrace apply to persons of the same travel group. When you sit at a table with others, a face mask is also mandatory at the table and may only be taken off while eating and drinking.
Shops and supermarkets
Wearing a mouth mask is mandatory in most shops and supermarkets. Everywhere is also asked to clean the hands with disinfectant gel that is made available at the entrance. There is a lot of checks at shops and it is also the case that you do not enter most shops without a mask.
What type of face mask do you need?
In fact, any type of face mask can be used that covers both the nose and mouth. The Spanish Ministry of Health recommends surgical masks (mascarillas quirúrgicas). Non-medical textile mouth masks can also be used.
