Coronavirus (COVID-19) Frequently asked questions
Date: 30 March 2020 - 09:30 hours - still valid on 7 April 2020
We are keeping a close eye on developments associated with the spread of Coronavirus, with the health and safety of our customers as our number one priority. Understandably, we’re currently receiving high volumes of calls and messages. We would urge you not to contact us right now, to allow us to deal with customers in departure date order. If your booking is affected, we’ll be in touch as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, and in the meantime if you have questions about your situation, please review our answers to some common questions below.
Due to the current situation, we have decided to cancel all departures until 14 May 2020. If we already know that a destination will not be open on a later departure date, we will also cancel these departures.
If your holiday is cancelled due to the Corona virus, you will receive a voucher for the amount you have paid so far. You will be able to use this voucher towards the payment of a holiday with a later arrival date. It is valid for 1 year from the date of issue and can be used for all holidays offered by Roan Camping Holidays and Go4camp.
So, a future holiday can be booked within 1 year from the date of issue by exchanging the voucher. The arrival date needs to be in 2020 or 2021. If you receive the voucher on the 1st of April, you have until the 1st of April 2021 to book a new holiday arriving in the year 2020 or 2021.
We will contact you within two weeks about how the voucher will be made available. You do not have to contact us about this.
Where can I check the latest status of the travel advice issued for a particular destination?
We advise you to keep an eye on the website of Foreign Affairs:
Departures from 14 May and later
For these bookings we assume, based on the information we have now, that your journey will continue. This of course depends on the current situation at that moment. Do you have any doubts about your trip? Then you can make use of our rebooking scheme. Would you like to cancel your trip? Then the regular cancellation conditions apply.
Can I rebook my booked holiday with Roan?
You can always rebook your holiday to another destination in our range. You will have to pay any additional costs yourself. Furthermore, the normal conditions with regard to changing your trip apply. Check the website for the available options. If you have chosen another destination, please contact our reservations department to change your holiday. You cannot change your destination online.
I no longer want to go on holiday. Can I cancel my holiday because of the Coronavirus?
If you want to cancel your holiday yourself, you will have to pay the cancellation fee applicable at the time of cancellation, in accordance with our travel conditions.
Refunds not possible
We understand very well that you may have a preference for a refund of the travel sum paid. However, the circumstances are so exceptional that we have opted for an exceptional solution.
Does my cancellation insurance cover the costs if I cancel?
You can contact your travel cancellation insurance company regarding questions about cancellations connected with the Coronavirus. The conditions for this differ per insurance company.
