Do you need a universal adapter at Roan?

A frequently asked question before booking or starting a holiday is: Do we need a universal adapter at Roan? The answer is: No! All our accommodations are equipped with enough 'normal' F-type sockets. You probably think that you no longer need a universal adapter anywhere in Europe, but nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the following countries do indeed have different sockets from the ones we are used to, namely, The Canary Islands, Cyprus, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Russia, San Marino, Vatican City, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Do you really need a universal adapter in Italy?

In Italy, there are 2 different types of sockets in use, namely, the F socket and the L socket. In many places, especially in tourist areas, the regular F socket is available. However, you could land up somewhere where you cannot simply plug your phone or iPad charger into the socket.

Which plugs are used in which Roan holiday countries?

Here is just a brief overview of our holiday destinations:

Roan holiday destination Plug type
France Type E
Austria Type F
Italy Type L & F
Spain Type F
Croatia Type F
Slovenia Type F
As you can see, type E sockets are used in France. If you live in the Netherlands, you do not need a travel adapter in France. Your devices with plug C and plug F fit the sockets. Check to see if your devices with plug F have an extra pin for use in socket E.

No need to panic!
However, as a Roan guest, there is no need for you to panic at all! Our tents, lodge tents, and mobile homes are all equipped with regular power outlets and power strips just like those we are used to, here in the Netherlands. Therefore, it doesn't matter where we place our accommodations in the future, Roan thinks along with you and makes sure that usable power outlets are always available in all our accommodations.
Fun fact:
Roan books holidays for guests from many different countries. Our guests from Ireland and the United Kingdom will of course need an adapter, since they have different sockets in their home countries.
A camping plug, what is that?
You need a camping plug to connect your accommodation to the electricity pole while camping with your own caravan or tent, that is, if you want electricity during your holiday. You don't have to worry about this either when you go on holiday with Roan! We have already arranged all of this for you.
