Campsite in Müllerthal with swimming pool

Campsite Birkelt is situated in the Müllerthal, in the East of Luxembourg. A Big plus for this campsite is the heated swimming pool, which consists of a new 450 m2 outdoor pool, a separate children’s pool with slide and an indoor pool. When the weather is nice, the roof of the indoor pool can be opened. So whatever the weather, you can always go for a swim or play in the pool. And when the sun is out, you can lounge on your sunbed by the water. The campsite also has a restaurant, a snackbar, a small football pitch and a mini-disco. There’s something to do for everyone!

What can we do in Luxembourg?

You can go on beautiful hikes in the Müllerthal nature reserve, close to the German border: There is a hiking trail network totalling no less than 112 kilometres in length. A walk would lead you past steep sandstone cliffs, narrow gorges and unusual formations of limestone and dolomite. 5 minutes from campsite Birkelt you’ll also find a fun barefoot path – especially popular with kids.

One of your activities in Luxembourg should certainly be to visit Luxembourg City, the capital that’s built against a promontory. It’s a special experience, shopping and strolling through these steep streets. Vianden castle is also a must-see, just like the gorgeous Schiessentümpel waterfall. In less than an hour you can be in Trier, Germany's oldest city. So plenty to do in the area, with the advantage: in Luxembourg it's never a long drive.

The weather in Luxembourg

Just like the Netherlands, Luxembourg has a moderate sea climate, with cool summers and mild winters. July and August are the hottest months and in May and June you'll see most of the sun. The warmest area of Luxembourg is the Moezeldal, in the South East. But on campsite Birkelt, you’ll have a wonderful holiday whatever the season, because both the indoor – and outdoor pool are heated!
