I have a question about
Forest fires in France and Spain
We are in close contact with our hosts at the campsite, as well as the regional teams on-site. They, in turn, are in close contact with the campsite and local authorities. If we hear that it not safe for you to travel to your holiday destination, we will contact you immediately. Therefore, it is not necessary for you to contact us yourself. We also ask you not to do this, as our colleagues need the time to inform the affected guests in question.
Use live navigation apps while driving. These apps are usually updated very quickly by reports from other road users and local authorities, and they automatically reroute you to avoid closed roads. Situations can change quickly. For France, you can consult bison-fute.gouv.fr, which is the official French traffic service. For Spain, it is infocar.dgt.es
You may always change your booking regardless of the reason, and in such a case, the regular rebooking conditions apply. If your new holiday is more expensive, you will pay the difference. If your holiday is cheaper, you will pay cancellation fees on the price difference. In case of cancellation, we will charge cancellation fees. https://www.roan.nl/boekingsvo...
There are several websites that show current wildfires: forest-fire.emergency.copernicus.eu (European site), feuxdeforet.fr (French site) and rtve.es (Spanish site)
Although a red alert from the French Météo des Forêts (the wildfire warning system) indicates that the risk of wildfires is extremely high, this is usually not a direct legal basis for Dutch travel organisations and insurers to cancel free of charge.
What do Dutch organisations look at?
Dutch travel organisations (affiliated with the ANVR) and the Dutch Calamiteitenfonds primarily look at the travel advice from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
